The Best PC Games of This Year

As 2012 bobs away to become the thing of the past, from its frothy wake, surges the new horizon of an exciting new era-2013.

This year has many promises in terms of PC Games. There are number of games that will be launched this year and all promise to be as exciting, breath-taking and nerve wrenching as the other.

This article provides you with every detail that you need to know to be excited about the next 365 days that comes on your way. There is an entire armada of interstellar epics, kick starters, mega multiplayer franchises and horror games that will surely become your object of desire.

As 2013 may be deemed as the most exciting year for gamers, there are a number of the best PC games of different genre that you can pick from. They range from action to puzzle, sport to strategy and from racing to adventure gaming.

In Action Genre, one of the best PC games to be released on 8th of February is Dead Space 3. It will be published by Electronic Arts and this has an appearance of co-op mode.

This space horror game is very venerable with its excellent multiplayer option and Wii Light Gun Game mode. This franchise is still new on our radar, therefore the game can be easily played and it promises the addition of themes of insanity as well.

Another epic PC game to be released on March 5, 2013 is Tomb Raider, published by Square Enix. This is a revival of the main series and the protagonist Croft, will be a bit different than the daredevil treasure hunter that she was portrayed in the previous installations.

This Croft however is unworldly and young; therefore, this game is directed towards more darkness and maturity.

In puzzle genre, the Witness to be released in 2013 by Jonathan Blow is a promising game of puzzle. It is set on an island strewn with mystery. There are a lot of anticipation from this particular franchise of Blow which has a team with experience and also a good budget.

Clark is another great game to be published by Golden Tricycle that has an isometric puzzler. In this puzzle game that may prove to be one of the best PC games; the player is the guide of a quadruped robot.

There are a series of challenge rooms and it tests the ability of the player to manipulate the blocks, therefore unlocking new routes and blocking the enemy robot.

The tremendously popular franchise of FIFA will be back with its newest installation FIFA 13. With its hugely successful previous editions, what this new one will give to its fans is anyone's guess.

The IHF Handball Challenge 13 published by Neutron Games to be released on January 25th promises to be dramatic and one can easily hope that the display of this new edition will be more wrinkle free.

In the Racing Genre, publisher Code Master will be releasing Grid 2 which offers a split in the race track, there is enough dirt on the streets and the driving simulation will leave all the players with deep satisfaction.

Therefore we all can expect a tremendously exciting year ahead of us with fun filled games that will no doubt quench our thirst for excitement, adventure and fun.

This year also introduce some amazing new technologies in the realm of PC games that will enrich our gaming experience even further.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition - My Review

First release on February 28, 2012, Motal Kombat Komplete Edition boasts a new look and feel to the older versions. Whether you’re a fan or a first time player one can't help but enjoy the all-out fight scenes, blood and gore that this game provides.

I'm not going to lie about it but I find myself spending hours playing this game. Don't laugh about it because if you like any Mortal Kombat game then this could easily be you. (:

With that I'll just get right into my review.

Game Features:

Let's start with the backgrounds; I thought they were stunning as compared to the previous versions. They are filled with distractions like flying dragons, flying debris, Shoa Kahn and his pet cheering on your fight, victims being dunked into the dead pool, and much more. All making the fighting areas come to life.

As for the characters, they look okay. I mean the graphics are about 80% better than before, they're some exceptions. The costumes are the same which is something I thought would have changed.
Overall I liked the changes to the graphics, now it makes the gory scenes more realistic so if you got a soft stomach then you might not want to play because this is a whole new game.

Story Mode:

It's like watching the Fast Five series, with the story line from MK4 I thought that the developers, Nether Realm Studios did a great job combining all of the previous games into this one.

I mentioned the Fast Five series because at the end you knew that they'll be another one. Well the same principle applies here, they'll be another Motal Kombat according to the ending, I won't give it away so you'll have to play it and find out for yourself.

The only thing I didn't like about the game is the fact that if you missed something important or wanted to go back and watch a fight scene, you'll have to start all over again. This game does not have a chapter index nor can it be paused at certain scenes.

Game Play:

The game mode plays in traditional 2D plane instead of the more popular 3D modes, however, 2D seems to be much faster and it allows you to spend less time chasing each other and makes it much easier to trap your opponent.

There's no more multiple martial arts styles to use nor are the 6/7 button combos. This game includes a new 3 button combo but by incorporating special moves and juggling in air you can get bigger combinations.

They added a feature called Enhanced Attack System, it uses a meter that allows you to perform advanced versions of your attacks that do more damage or more difficult to evade. And the new X-ray attack is pretty cool too.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I would definitely recommend this game to any Mortal Kombat fan whether you're a diehard fan or haven’t played in a while. It's a great rehash of the original series that sets the story with the original game play.

With the enhanced graphics and more realistic characters, now scenes seem to jump out at you and put you in the action. I thought that the game mode was simplified, fast, fluid and of course very fun to play. This game is gory, bloody and may not be appropriate for minors.

Thus far one of the Best Mortal Kombat yet! It comes complete with 4 new characters, 15 Klassic Skins, previously released downloadable content (DLC), and the digital downloads of the 2011 MK release. Oh yea, and the music isn't bad either.
