Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition - My Review

First release on February 28, 2012, Motal Kombat Komplete Edition boasts a new look and feel to the older versions. Whether you’re a fan or a first time player one can't help but enjoy the all-out fight scenes, blood and gore that this game provides.

I'm not going to lie about it but I find myself spending hours playing this game. Don't laugh about it because if you like any Mortal Kombat game then this could easily be you. (:

With that I'll just get right into my review.

Game Features:

Let's start with the backgrounds; I thought they were stunning as compared to the previous versions. They are filled with distractions like flying dragons, flying debris, Shoa Kahn and his pet cheering on your fight, victims being dunked into the dead pool, and much more. All making the fighting areas come to life.

As for the characters, they look okay. I mean the graphics are about 80% better than before, they're some exceptions. The costumes are the same which is something I thought would have changed.
Overall I liked the changes to the graphics, now it makes the gory scenes more realistic so if you got a soft stomach then you might not want to play because this is a whole new game.

Story Mode:

It's like watching the Fast Five series, with the story line from MK4 I thought that the developers, Nether Realm Studios did a great job combining all of the previous games into this one.

I mentioned the Fast Five series because at the end you knew that they'll be another one. Well the same principle applies here, they'll be another Motal Kombat according to the ending, I won't give it away so you'll have to play it and find out for yourself.

The only thing I didn't like about the game is the fact that if you missed something important or wanted to go back and watch a fight scene, you'll have to start all over again. This game does not have a chapter index nor can it be paused at certain scenes.

Game Play:

The game mode plays in traditional 2D plane instead of the more popular 3D modes, however, 2D seems to be much faster and it allows you to spend less time chasing each other and makes it much easier to trap your opponent.

There's no more multiple martial arts styles to use nor are the 6/7 button combos. This game includes a new 3 button combo but by incorporating special moves and juggling in air you can get bigger combinations.

They added a feature called Enhanced Attack System, it uses a meter that allows you to perform advanced versions of your attacks that do more damage or more difficult to evade. And the new X-ray attack is pretty cool too.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I would definitely recommend this game to any Mortal Kombat fan whether you're a diehard fan or haven’t played in a while. It's a great rehash of the original series that sets the story with the original game play.

With the enhanced graphics and more realistic characters, now scenes seem to jump out at you and put you in the action. I thought that the game mode was simplified, fast, fluid and of course very fun to play. This game is gory, bloody and may not be appropriate for minors.

Thus far one of the Best Mortal Kombat yet! It comes complete with 4 new characters, 15 Klassic Skins, previously released downloadable content (DLC), and the digital downloads of the 2011 MK release. Oh yea, and the music isn't bad either.
